The standard (medium) width for women is B, while the standard width for men is D. Shoe boxes and labels will only identify widths other than standard. Within the shoes, wide and narrow widths are identified on the label, underneath the tongue — ie. T005N(2E).

When is additional width needed?
Visible stretching or bulging on the outsides of forefoot materials is a good indicator that additional width may be needed. These sizes are available in many of our Running and Training shoes. In some cases, men can wear women’s styles to achieve a narrow fit and women can wear men’s to get a wide. If this is needed, please use the references above to determine comparable size lengths. Please note that the differences of width between narrow, standard, wide, and extra wide are usually only a couple millimeters and are proportional to the size of the shoe. Most additional width will be found in the forefoot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big Improvement -- Best Kayano Yet First, I'm female but have resorted to wearing men's shoes for the additional width and cushioning. My right forefoot has spread a little, and I have a Morton's neuroma in that foot, so I find it difficult to get a good fit, and cushioning is important. I also have slight pronation. I've been wearing Kayanos since the 21, which I loved, and in which an 8.5 was very comfortable. (In fact, I've got a stockpile of 21s for distance races.) The 25s fix all the issues I had with the 22-24s. Those iterations were small in the toe box and I felt pressure points even when I moved up to a size 9. The 25s are a big change! A size 8.5 has plenty of room in the toe box, which is clearly wider than in more recent models. They were comfortable for a run right out of the box, and have great cushioning. I didn't feel any potential pressure points -- it's like wearing comfy slippers. They also feel very stabilizing, though I do wear them with over-the-counter orthotics. So, I highly recommend these if you're a Kayano fan, or are looking for cushioned stability shoe. I have to add that the Silver with black soles look super sharp in person.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Asics got it right with the 25's! Just got these today and took them for a run. Asics has done a great job bringing back the fit and finish of the older Kayano 20's and 21's, except these are lighter, faster with good energy return and maybe even more comfortable with the new upper. I'm a fit heavier runner at 215 lbs and need a good cushioned stability shoe due to bouts with my knees and PF. The Kayano 25's fit the bill perfectly! Not sure about durability yet, but I expect these to do well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phenomal running shoe!!!! I am a sports podiatrist that recommends Running shoes to patients on a daily basis. A six went through a couple of years with major fit issues. The Joan Kiano 25 appears to have solved all those issues. The flip is far superior and one of the most comfortable shoes that they have made. This shoe can be used for many different running shoes to patients on a daily basis. ASICs went through a couple of years with major fit issues. The gel Kianna 25 appears to have solved all those issues. The flip is far superior and one of the most comfortable shoes that they have made. This shoe can be used for many different foot structures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing but Kayano for me I’ve been running on Kayanos for 10-15 years and the 25th anniversary model is by far my favorite. Fairly flat feet btw. Nice job ASICS R&D dept!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit and very comfortable! I bought these shows about a month ago after looking at a few different pairs of shoes. I have put about 50 miles on them and I have to say they are the most comfortable shoe I have ever purchased. I don't do too many runs over 7 miles but with these I have never had to worry about sore feet or legs. They are holding up very well even though a lot of my running takes place on gravel roads and running trails. They fit nice and tight to my feet and have plenty of toe room in the front.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lacing Puzzle I bought these today and they came with every eyelet laced. I have a high arch and needed to redo the pattern using only eyelets 1, 3, 4, and 6 to make it comfortable. 4 picked up the tounge loop and I added 7 without crossing over to keep the shoe from coming untied during my 10k walks. A big thanks to the sales representative that gave me the asic guide to lacing!
