About the ASICS MEGABLAST™ running shoes
ASICS MEGABLAST™ running shoes are designed for runners who are looking for lightweight responsiveness and spring, without sacrificing comfort. This addition to the ASICS running shoe lineup is one of our bounciest, and features a curved, rockered sole that energetically propels you forward with every step. The ASICS MEGABLAST™ shoe release is here.
What type of runner is the MEGABLAST™ shoe best for?
ASICS MEGABLAST™ shoes are best for neutral runners looking for comfort and responsiveness, without the stiffness of a plated shoe. MEGABLAST™ rockered running shoes offer cloud-like cushioning and an efficient stride for long runs, easy jogs and tempo training. Depending on your running style, they also work on race day.
What's the difference between the MEGABLAST™ and SONICBLAST™ shoes?
The ASICS MEGABLAST™ running shoes and the SONICBLAST™ shoe models are both built for performance. If you prioritize comfort, choose the MEGABLAST™. The rocker design is easier on your joints, and the plush cushioning provides soft comfort. It's ideal for long distances and recovery runs.
If your focus is speed during workouts, tempo runs and races, choose the SONICBLAST™ running shoe. The propulsive Pebax plate, lightweight design and energetic FF BLAST MAX™ at the midsole offer a faster feel underfoot.
Can I wear these shoes on multiple types of terrain?
Both the MEGABLAST™ and SONICBLAST™ running shoes feature the proprietary ASICSGRIP™ rubber outsole for advanced traction on a variety of terrain types. The distinctive sole pattern helps you keep your footing uphill and down, as it provides a sure platform in wet and muddy conditions. Thanks to the durability of the material, both models will last through many runs.
What are rockered running shoes?
Rockered running shoes feature a sole with a distinctive curve that resembles the base of a rocking chair. The science behind the design is to mimic the natural curve of your foot as it transitions from landing through toe-off. The rockered design of the MEGABLAST™ shoe supports your foot as it rolls through each stride. You will feel the energy and responsiveness in every step for a lively and springy ride.
