MIYAKE DESIGN STUDIO x HYPER TAPING

The HYPER TAPING™ shoe is reimagined by the pioneering Japanese fashion company, ISSEY MIYAKE. Originally drawing inspiration from archived wrestling and track & field footwear, this silhouette unites heritage influences with contemporary materials and design details.

The upper channels influences from the HYPERPOWER™ track & field shoe. A combination of smooth and ribbed leather manels are met with glossy synthetic leather overlays and textured mesh underlays. These features are offset with a criss-cross hook and loop closure that's worked into the ASICS Stripes logo on the sides.

The outsole references the SNAPDOWN™ wrestling shoe series. It features a low-profile tooling system that's met with a modified sockliner for comfort in various scenarios.
