Pronation is part of the natural movement of the human body and refers to the way your foot rolls inward for impact distribution upon landing. Understanding your pronation type can help you find a comfortable running shoe. The GEL-KAYANO LITE is made for Neutral and Overpronation.

  • Push Off

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GEL KAYANO LITE In love! Comfortable. No rubbing, no break in needed. And I love the colors. I will NEVER wear another brand of running shoes. ASICS all the way!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I finally found the one! I had bought and returned 5 sneakers before finding this one. If you have a flat or flatter foot, need a wide toe box, have a narrow heal and need a decent amount of support as well as cushioning this is the shoe for you. I've been running and walking on the road and treadmill for a few weeks now with this sneaker. This is a great blend of lightweight meets what you actually need for your knees to not hurt for days after working out. I highly recommend this sneaker.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable but top material can be better It is super comfortable shoes. I wear them at work almost everyday. My only complaint was after 3 months, there were wholes on side of shoes. When I reported ASICS about it, they replaced with new shoes. I appreciate their excellent customer service!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not quite right for me The shoe is cute, love the hot pink accents. Stretchy laces are a plus. Lightweight and so much better than the overpronation shoes of 10 years ago. I purchased both the Gel-Kayano 27 and the Gel-Kayano Lite at the same time to compare. The Gel-Kayano Lite feels more shallow overall, a little looser in the heel (which is already a bit large on the Gel-Kayano 27), and a bit shorter (although this could be due to the looser heel pushing the foot farther forward in the shoe). The cushioning is great on both although I felt the 27s were slightly more comfy maybe due to a slightly roomier toebox. The Lites did have the superior arch support in my opinion and are probably the most stable shoe I've ever tried. I think the wide basenets contribute to this (wider than the 27s) and something about the structure just holds the foot really nicely in the Lites when standing. At the same time, the degree of stability on the Lites seemed to be a potential detriment when walking faster. I could feel a less consistent motion as my foot rolled forward in the Lites compared to the 27s, if that makes sense - the support kept holding up and the arch of my foot ended up stretching (overly so) to get the ball of the foot in position to make contact with the ground. I could foresee potential pain from this when running or wearing for long periods of time and the 27s felt more flexible in that regard. Between these points, I decided to go with the Gel-Kayano 27 although the Lite seems like a solid shoe, probably just depends on the person. If the Lites had a narrower heel, were a bit deeper, and had additional support toward the front of the arch to continue that arch support as the foot rolls forward, they would be ideal for my feet!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Incredibly comfortable, not particularly durable I love the shoes - absolutely the most comfortable running shoes I have ever worn. Even at longer (10+ mile) distances my feet don't hurt at all. That said, I have just shy of 300 miles on them and have to retire them - tread is completely shot. It's a tradeoff of weight for durability. I will still buy these but do not expect to get a ton of miles out of them.
