How do you know if you are a stride or cadence runner?
If youâre a stride runner, youâll notice you carry your hips higher, with your foot striking right under your hips. You may also notice that your torso moves up and down more with each stride. This is because you have a stronger push-off and more time in the air between steps.
Cadence runners tend to take quicker, more compact steps. If youâre a cadence runner, you may tend to carry your hips lower with your foot striking slightly in front of your hips. You also likely conserve energy with less up-and-down movement in your torso.
