Drawing inspiration from the original ASICS Tabi Marathon shoes developed in the 1970s the distinctive split-toe design reflects both cultural heritage and practical purpose.

The upper combines soft, elastic material with minimal seaming to reduce foot pressure and deliver a sock-like fit. A sweeping metallic pattern curves across the shoe—a deliberate homage to Herb Lubalin's iconic 1980s ASICS logo concepts, adding visual sophistication to the functional design.

The midsole-outsole features a flexible rubber and EVA midsole-outsole that balances lightweight construction with reliable grip for daily wear. The tooling integrates classic ASICS Tabi textures with track-and-field line work, creating visual interest while maintaining responsive cushioning.Kostadinov's strength is translating this heritage into modern design while preserving its essence. Rather than copying historical Tabi shoes, the LYASA FF extracts their core principles into a refined silhouette that emphasises wearability and structural integrity.
