The GEL-NYCā„¢ 2.0 sneaker sources inspiration from heritage and modern performance running styles.ā€‹ This colorway draws inspiration from the Japanese concept of Ikigai, which translates to ""A reason for being."" It reflects to the pursuit of purpose and a meaningful life. We wanted to create this product to connect to our Japanese brand heritage and our ""Sound Mind, Sound Body"" philosophy to inspire the consumer on their journey to finding their Ikigai.

Its upper construction references the GEL-1050ā„¢ sneaker from the year 2000.ā€‹ The materials are also updated with nubuck overlays for a modern finish.

The newly designed tooling references the GEL-1050ā„¢ sneaker, as well as the GEL-LYTEā„¢ DS II shoe outsole influences for lifestyle purposes. Through a combination of TRUSSTICā„¢ support units, GELā„¢ technology inserts, and FF BLASTā„¢ PLUS cushioning, this midsole formation creates a lighter and more comfortable feel than the first version.
