Whether you walk for fitness, leisure or work, ASICS walking shoes can help you get the most out of your exercise while supporting the natural motion of your foot and lower limbs. Our shoes are designed to provide comfort, durability and support for walkers of all levels, using ASICS technologies such as GEL™ technology, TRUSSTIC SYSTEM™ and DUOMAX™ support. ASICS walking shoes in Australia provide you with a range of options to suit your lifestyle.

Which type of shoes are best for walking?

When considering walking shoes, think about your walking habits and needs. ASICS shoes for walking include the highly cushioned WALKRIDE™ FF, the popular walking style GT-2000™ SX, and the GEL-CONTEND™ athletic walker.

If you occasionally break into a jog, you may enjoy the GEL-EXCITE™ 10, which is a solid walking platform that also features the same GEL™ technology found in our top tier running shoes. The podiatrist-recommended GT-1000™ is designed for an active lifestyle that includes light running, walking, or visits to the gym. In addition to FLYTEFOAM™ cushioning and GEL™ technology, LITETRUSS™ at the midsole reduces pronation.

Heading off the pavement? GEL-VENTURE™ 9 shoe puts you outdoors on more challenging terrain. Supportive overlays keep your feet more stable on rocky paths and loose dirt. Its durable construction and rugged outsole pattern gives you better traction over kilometers of off-road surfaces.

Is it OK to wear running shoes for walking?

If you are not covering much distance and if you are not long on your feet, running shoes are ok to use for walking. For your comfort and well-being, however, it is worth investing in walking shoes.

Walking shoes provide cushion and support for the purpose of walking, with added footwear design features that provide higher durability than running shoes. The outsole rubber and upper material are designed to withstand wear and tear, providing superior durability to running shoe.

Are ASICS walking shoes recommended by podiatrists?

ASICS walking shoes are evaluated and assessed by Sports Medicine lower limb experts, including podiatrists, to ensure the shoes are fit for purpose. The ASICS GT-1000™ LEATHER 2 and WALKRIDE™ FF in particular are ideal for the purposes of walking and recommended by Sports Medicine Australia (SMA) and the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA).

These shoes provide all day comfort and support when walking or standing.
