What gear do I need to start running?

When starting out, it’s hard to know what to buy first. It's good to get a few pieces of good, all-round gear – shoes, comfortable clothing, hats and socks – that suit the current weather. After that, you can experiment with what’s right for you, and add to your collection from there.
