Cecilie Bahnsen is proud to introduce the sixth chapter of her collaboration with ASICS Sportstyle GEL-KAYANO 20 where functionality meets femininity.

Cecilie Bahnsen is a Danish womenswear label that offers an unexpected and timeless expression of modern femininity. Drawing on a rich history of design quality, Cecilie Bahnsen combines sculptural silhouettes with couture techniques, reinterpreting this with a modern approach.

A continuation of Bahnsen’s original Mary Jane silhouette, the design is reimagined with sculptural detailing and a half-tongue construction. Cecilie drew inspiration from a 2005 marathon tabi shoe, incorporating its asymmetrical lacing and D-ring hardware. The result is a hybrid of past and future: a technical trainer imbued with couture-level intricacy.

A key element of the design is the floral ‘cage’, a 3D structure formed from Cecilie Bahnsen’s signature flower motif. Layered with ASICS’ Stripes, reflective threads, and contrasting overlays, it creates a delicate interplay of rigidity and softness, exposure and concealment. Negative space is thoughtfully used throughout: openings in the upper allow layers to peek through, adding lightness and depth to the silhouette.

The CECILIE BAHNSEN X GEL-KAYANO 20 is availble in two iterations: olive and vanilla/pure silver. The olive pair features a lightweight sheer mesh base printed with a metallic floral pattern, reflective laces, and shiny silver lining, contrasted with matte and gloss finishes. The vanilla/pure silver pair is built on a natural linen-look base layered with black glossy floral no-sew overlays and silver metallic accents, combining softness with structure in true Bahnsen style.

Both sit atop the original GEL-KAYANO 20 tooling, designed with ASICS’ signature GEL technology and a Trusstic system for all-day support.
