Use of BIO-Based material: Cellulose nanofiber

Cellulose nanofiber (CNF) can be found in the soles of ASICS shoes. It is a nano-sized ultra-fine fiber that is one-fifth the weight of steel but five times stronger. CNF can be made from almost any kind of plant biomass, making it an extremely abundant and renewable resource. By using CNF in our shoes, ASICS is lowering its carbon footprint.

Launched in 2018, the GEL-KAYANO™ 25 was the world’s first running shoe to feature CNF. We will continue to increase our use of CNF as part of our drive to increase the sustainability and performance of our products.
