Your role in our shared journey

Located at our EMEA headquarters in Hoofddorp, near Amsterdam, you will be the primary PR and influencer lead for the Core Performance Sports (CPS) category across Europe, owning media relations, influencer and ambassador communities, agency management, and campaign execution across Tennis, Padel, and Indoor. You will manage 7 appointed PR agencies spanning the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Nordics, France, Spain, and Italy, and lead the Padel influencer community and ASICS Tennis Academy (ATA) coaches' network. Reporting to the Category Director CPS, with one direct report (a graduate), you will manage an annual PR and seeding budget of approximately €500,000 and serve as the external voice, tone-of-voice guardian, and relationship builder for the CPS category across Europe.

ASICS is the market leader in Tennis, Indoor, and Padel in Europe, and this role sits at the centre of that position. Across three sports and seven markets simultaneously, you will have genuine scope and real autonomy to shape how the CPS category shows up in the media, with influencers, and at live events. At a larger brand the equivalent role would cover a fraction of this remit; here, you own the full picture and have a manager who gives you the freedom and trust to run with it. This is a role for a natural connector with strong sports affinity, sharp PR instincts, and the confidence to bring their own ideas, not just execute other people’s.  

Your key responsibilities will be:

• PR Agency Management & Media Relations - manage 7 PR agencies across Europe (UK, DE, NL, Nordics, FR, SP, IT); set direction, hold agencies to KPIs and budget, and serve as the primary ASICS contact for EU media, press, and brand partners across Tennis, Padel, and Handball.
• Influencer & Ambassador Community Leadership - lead the Padel influencer community (expert and local tiers) and the ATA coaches' network; activate ambassadors across campaigns and events; manage seeding, product logistics, and the annual PR budget of approximately €500,000.
• Campaign Execution & Events - create and deliver sport-specific PR campaigns and media events end-to-end across offline and online channels; support local market activations and ensure campaigns scale across Europe. Travel required for media events, agency visits, and sports activations.
• Brand Voice, Reporting & Content - act as tone-of-voice guardian for all CPS PR output; review and approve press releases and brand communications; write independently for handball-specific and European-specific content; track impressions, media value, and campaign ROI.

You have the following skills and experience:

• 5+ years of PR and communications experience at a brand or agency; track record and portfolio outweigh formal qualifications.
• Genuine sports affinity (as a player, fan, or enthusiast).
• Sports industry background (strongly preferred).
• Proven track record managing multiple external PR agencies simultaneously across different markets and building or leading influencer and ambassador communities at scale.
• Strong written / spoken English at a professional PR standard; able to review, edit, and write brand communications to publication-ready quality; budget management and product logistics experience required.
• Natural relationship builder - warm, instantly credible with media, influencers, athletes, and agency partners; proactive and self-steering with the confidence to bring ideas and challenge constructively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Existing network within Tennis, Padel, or Handball is a clearest differentiator.
• Additional European languages (Spanish, French, German, or Dutch) are a plus.
