Your role in our shared journey
As Key Account Manager located at ASICS South Africa Office in Cape Town, you'll contribute to our mission by managing assigned Key Account customers, maintaining long-term relationships with the accounts and maximize sales opportunities within them. In the role you will work in close contact with our Sales & Marketing department as well as closely with customers’ purchasing managers in such a way that it contributes towards the realisation of the commercial objectives for ASICS.

 
Your role will be instrumental in weaving the fabric of our movement, bringing unique perspectives and driving innovation with every step. In the role, you’ll be reporting into our Sales Manager South Africa.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Maintain and develop relationships with assigned Key Account customers by visiting accounts regularly and negotiating on the composition of collections, prices, conditions and marketing activities.
• Prepare detailed seasonal documentation overview upon SMU (Special Make up’s) and in line assortment ensuring the range is commercial and profitable.
• Draft conditions/contracts for assigned Key Accounts, consult the relevant employees within the company about proposed conditions and support to drive closure of them.
• Create and execute Key Account Plans for the assigned customers.
• Serve as point of contact for questions or problems for the assigned customers.
• Monitor and analyse the sales and sell through figures of assigned customers.
• Assist the Sales Manager in formulating the Commercial Plan and objectives for South Africa region.
• Budget planning for assigned customers.
• Proactively instruct, support and coach sales department with execution of the assigned customers.
• Keep up to date on how the business unit work is progressing, offer support and provide any necessary guidance.
• Initiate coordination and cooperation with colleagues within Sales and Marketing of South Africa, as well as key sales department from of our European Headquarters (the Netherlands), to support the achievement of own objectives.

You have the following skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in the field of sales, business administration or similar
• 4-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the Sporting goods industry
• Strong experience in Core Sales Skills such as; Objection handling, Persuasive selling, Question and Listening skills
• Goal oriented with attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communicator with excellent command of written and spoken English
• High knowledge and strong usage of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PPT
• Team player with a proactive and solution oriented mindset
