NEOTIDE

The NEOTIDE sneaker was inspired by the question, “how can ASICS create something new from what would otherwise be thrown away?” With a circular design direction in mind, we partnered with Studio Hagel and Fastfeet Grinded to develop an advanced lifestyle sneaker that’s made from grinded-up (ASICS) deadstock and defective shoes.

100% of the knit upper and approx. 75% of the shoelaces are constructed using recycled materials. These details are met with visual influences from the GEL-NYC sneaker and other heritage running shoe styles from the mid-2000s. The midsole blends a futuristic shape with EVA foam that’s made with approx. 25% grinded material while the outsole is made with at least 25% grinded rubber. Additionally, the shoe implements GEL technology that’s made from 100% in-house GEL technology processing waste. This product has a carbon footprint of 9.6kg CO₂e/ pair.
