Your role in our shared journey
As Financial Control Executive located at ASICS South Africa office in Cape Town, you will assist with the full accounting function from General Ledger to Income Statement, Balance Sheet and related reports.
We have lots of interesting tasks and need someone who’s in love with numbers and systems, a measured yet passionate individual who’ll enjoy interacting and collaborating with different people across our great team, handling multiple tasks simultaneously whilst being a part of our Accounting & Finance team.
Bold yet thorough, you’ll bring new ideas to the table that you’ll constantly refine to help us better engage with our colleagues, customers and vendors. Your hands-on approach and ability to work with others will impact brand consideration and help our staff and partners in their everyday tasks.
Your role will be instrumental in weaving the fabric of our movement, bringing unique perspectives and driving innovation with every step. In the role, you’ll be part of our South Africa Finance Team and report into our Senior Financial Control Team Lead.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Prepare the reconciliation on the financial accounts (balance and P&L) for the month-end closing, to have a smooth month-, quarter- and year-end closing process.
- Build a strong professional business relationship with other departments (Central services, sales, marketing, etc.)
- Processing of invoices, maintain open items and age analysis
- Review and manage vendor master data
- Loading of supplier payments in the bank
- Review, analyze, and respond to external/internal supplier enquiries and perform supplier statement of account reconciliations
- Identify invoice legal requirements, and VAT requirements
- Assist with Month End Accruals
- Pro-actively support the Finance team in complying with the local legislation and regulatory requirements with regards to finance/accounting.
- Contribute to optimize and monitor the internal controls in the organization.
- Ensure J-Sox internal controls are correct and accurately executed.
- Support compiling the yearly statutory annual accounts and supports this process within the given timelines.
- Take part in external audit process and ensure timely delivery of specific audit requests.

You have the following skills:
- 4-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in accounting or similar field.
- You have an Accounting degree – B.Comm Accounting
- SAICA articles required
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Working knowledge of IFRS
- SAP/ SAP4HANA knowledge is an advantage
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong in strategic and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Advanced in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
